Lot 1008 Werner Krauss
German actor (1884–1959) best known for playing the title role in the 1920 silent horror classic The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari. ALS in German, one page, 8.5 x 11, no date. Krauss writes to Frau Kollerics. In full (translated): “The enclosed is intended for the lamp shade. Regretfully, we will not be in Vienna for the day of the Jubilee. We shall not forget about it, though, and will make up for it once we are there.” In very good condition, with intersecting folds, scattered wrinkling and soiling, and a trimmed right edge. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope and an unsigned postcard photo of a funeral.
